How does “Split Pots in Texas Hold’em Poker” happen?

I have a question about tiebreaker in Texas Holdem no limit. In the situation that two players are left. The board cards are 10, 9, 7,6, and 2 of mixed suits. Player one has 8 and 2 and player two has 8 and Ace. Obviously the best hand is “straight” made by the 8. My question is which player wins? Player one, because his sixth card is the ace? Or it is split because in such case the sixth card is not interfered.

only 5 cards are used 10 9 8 7 6
the other 2 cards do not count at all

I’m a beginner at Texas Hold Em’ and I would like to know what casinos I should start playing at to get good at the game and maybe win some money.

stay away from where the locals play (generally where there is really good comps you have more locals). Stay away from big stakes or card rooms that are know for big stakes.

Look for other rookie tourists. Places like Imperial Palace and Stratosphere and Sahara.

How do you show your cards on Full Tilt Poker?

I have seen other people show their cards when all other players fold while playing Full Tilt Poker online…how do you do that it never gives me the option?

Well I disagree with the person who said to never show them. There are times when it can be to your advantage. For example on a sold bluff if you show them you can get the opponent on tilt and get some extra calls when you’re not bluffing. Or showing some good hands early in a tournament to establish yourself as a player who bets the goods, setting yourself up for some bluffs later.

The way to do this is to not have auto muck checked and it will ask you if you want to show them or not.
